শিব মন্ত্র - Shiv Mantra

শিব হলেন হিন্দু ধর্মাবলম্বীদের সর্বোচ্চ দেবতা। সনাতন ধর্মের শাস্ত্রসমূহে তিনি পরমসত্বা রূপে ঘোষিত। শিব সৃষ্টি-স্থিতি-লয়রূপ তিন কারনের কারন, পরমেশ্বর- এটা তাঁর প্রণাম মন্ত্রেই বার বার উঠে এসেছে। তিনি জন্মরহিত, শাশ্বত, সর্বকারণের কারণ; তিনি স্ব-স্বরূপে বর্তমান, সমস্ত জ্যোতির জ্যোতি; তিনি তুরীয়, অন্ধকারের অতীত, আদি ও অন্তবিহীন।

শ্বেতাশ্বতর উপনিষদে বলা হয়েছে –

"যদাহতমস্তন্ন দিবা ন রাত্রির্নসন্ন চাসচ্ছিব এব কেবলঃ।"

অর্থাৎ যখন আলো ছিল না, অন্ধকারও ছিল না; দিন ছিল না, রাত্রিও ছিল না; সৎ ছিল না, অসৎ ও ছিল না- তখন কেবলমাত্র ভগবান শিবই ছিলেন।

উল্লেখ্য বেদান্ত বৈদিক সনাতন ধর্মের ভিত্তি তথা বেদের শিরোভাগ; সম্পূর্ণ বেদান্তে শিব ব্যতীত কারো সম্পর্কে এভাবে বলা হয়নি। শুধুমাত্র শিবের ক্ষেত্রেই বলা হয়েছে "শিব এব কেবলঃ"। সুতরাং সৃষ্টির পূর্বে একমাত্র শিবই বর্তমান ছিলেন। তিনিই লীলাচ্ছলে ব্রহ্মারূপে সৃষ্টি করেন, বিষ্ণুরূপ ধারণ করে পালন করেন আবার রুদ্ররূপ ধারন করে সংহার করেন। ব্রহ্মা-বিষ্ণু-হর তাঁরই সৃষ্টি-স্থিতি-লয়ের তিনটি রূপভেদ মাত্র। তাই এই তিন রূপের মধ্যে সত্বার কোন পার্থক্য নেই। তবু সনাতন রূপ পরম শিবরূপই মূলস্বরূপ।

শ্রীবিষ্ণুকে বলেন-

"অহং ভবানয়ঞ্চৈব রুদ্রোহয়ং যো ভবিষ্যতি।

একং রূপং ন ভেদোহস্তি ভেদে চ বন্ধনং ভবেৎ।।

তথাপীহ মদীয়ং শিবরূপং সনাতনম্।

মূলভূতং সদা প্রোক্তং সত্যং জ্ঞানমনন্তকম্।।"

(জ্ঞানসংহিতা)।

অর্থাৎ আমি, তুমি, এই ব্রহ্মা এবং রুদ্র নামে যিনি উৎপন্ন হবেন, এই সকলই এক। এদের মধ্যে কোনো ভেদ নাই, ভেদ থাকলে বন্ধন হত। তথাপি আমার শিবরূপ সনাতন এবং সকলের মূল স্বরূপ বলে কথিত হয়, যা সত্য জ্ঞান ও অনন্ত স্বরূপ।

ভগবান বিষ্ণু এবং তাঁর বিভিন্ন অবতারগণ সর্বদা শিব উপাসনাই করতেন। তাই শ্রীকৃষ্ণেরও আরাধ্য ছিলেন পরমেশ্বর শিব। ভগবান শিবের বরেই বিষ্ণু বা কৃষ্ণের ভগবত্বা। তাই হিন্দুধর্মের মূল স্তম্ভ ত্রিশক্তির (ব্রহ্মা, বিষ্ণু ও শিব) মধ্যে শিবই প্রধান । তিনি সমসাময়িক হিন্দুধর্মের তিনটি সর্বাধিক প্রাচীন সম্প্রদায়ের অন্যতম শৈব সম্প্রদায়ের প্রধান দেবতা। এছাড়া শিব স্মার্ত সম্প্রদায়ে পূজিত ঈশ্বরের পাঁচটি প্রধান রূপের (গণেশ, শিব, সূর্য, বিষ্ণু ও দুর্গা) একটি রূপ। তাঁর বিশেষ রুদ্ররূপ ধ্বংস, সংহার ও প্রলয়ের দেবতা।

শিবমূর্তির প্রধান বৈশিষ্ট্যগুলি হল তাঁর তৃতীয় নয়ন, গলায় বাসুকী নাগ, জটায় অর্ধচন্দ্র, জটার উপর থেকে প্রবাহিত গঙ্গা, অস্ত্র ত্রিশূল ও বাদ্য ডমরু। শিবকে সাধারণত ‘শিবলিঙ্গ’ নামক বিমূর্ত প্রতীকে পূজা করা হয়। সনাতন ধর্মীয় শাস্ত্রসমূহে শিব পূজা কে সর্বশ্রেষ্ঠও সর্বাধিক ফলপ্রদ বলে বর্ণনা করা হয়ে।
